Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery

Eligibility

Am I eligible?

If you are thinking about a procedure to help you lose weight, it there are three key criteria that will need to be fulfilled, essentially they are:

  1. You must have a BMI ≥ 30kg m2 (or 27 kg/m2 for a gastric balloon)
  2. Your weight must be a problem for you (not for your spouse or partner or friend)
  3. You should have genuinely tried to lose weight using more conventional approaches – involving diet and physical activity
